About the event
The Delta Arts Center is proud to present its Second Annual Benefit Concert on Friday, September 26, from 6–8 PM, featuring internationally celebrated saxophonist Robert Young. Praised for his “effortless expression and facile technique” (The Saxophonist Magazine), Robert has captivated audiences worldwide with his artistry as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator.
A passionate advocate for the classical saxophone, Robert has performed with ensembles including the PRISM Quartet, The Crossing, Charlotte Symphony, and Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings, and has appeared on the GRAMMY Award-winning album Gavin Bryars: The Fifth Century. Most recently, he was hailed as “uncommonly expressive…and technically prodigious” (San Francisco Classical Voice) for his performance with the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra.
Newly appointed as the Assistant Professor of Saxophone at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Robert inspires the next generation of musicians while continuing to perform on stages across the globe.
