Delta Arts Center proudly presents two new exhibitions that explore Black life, land, and legacy through powerful visual storytelling.
Field Notes: Black Leisure and the Land offers a visual notebook of Black rural experience—moments of stillness, play, and sustenance captured through the eyes of contemporary artists. Moving beyond trauma-centered narratives, the exhibition highlights the joy, resilience, and quiet luxury found in everyday interactions with nature. From kids playing under trees to fresh food grown just steps from home, the works remind us that access to land is not only a right—it’s a source of peace, tradition, and belonging.
Black Cowboys: Generations Pt. 2 continues the story of Cowboy culture and its enduring legacy across generations. This series celebrates the overlooked history of cowboys and cowgirls, honoring the skill, pride, and community woven into…
