A Night to Remember: Jazz & Jambalaya 2025

The spirit of New Orleans lit up Winston-Salem on April 25 as the Delta Arts Center hosted its annual Jazz & Jambalaya celebration—an unforgettable evening of music, flavor, and culture.

Held this year at the Reynolds Place Theatre inside the Milton Rhodes Arts Center, the event brought together art lovers, music enthusiasts, and community supporters for a festive night rooted in the rich traditions of African American art and culture. A special thank-you goes to the Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County for graciously providing the venue and fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Headlining the evening was Emmy Award-winning jazz and R&B recording artist Alyson Williams, whose soulful performance captivated the audience and set the tone for a night of elegance and energy. Accompanying her was the incomparable Keith Byrd, whose dynamic musicianship helped bring the rhythms of New Orleans to life.

True to its name, the event featured New Orleans-inspired jambalaya, flavorful cocktails, and other Southern delights that perfectly complemented the musical experience. Guests enjoyed the laid-back, joyful vibe while supporting a meaningful cause: advancing the Delta Arts Center’s mission to celebrate, preserve, and uplift African American art and culture.

Proceeds from the evening will go toward the Delta Arts Center’s ongoing efforts to provide exhibitions, educational programs, and cultural events that inspire and engage the local community.

As the jazz played on and the crowd swayed to every beat, it was clear: Jazz & Jambalaya isn’t just an event—it’s a celebration of heritage, artistry, and unity.
